Watercolour paper comes in three different types:Cold press: this is a semi-rough surface that gives a charcoal or graphite drawing texture
Rough: this is as it sounds, rough. I typically only use this paper if I am painting with watercolours
Hot press: I use hot press paper most frequently, it is smooth and enables me to get a photorealistic finish with very fine details.
